COOKIE POLICY

Updated on 20.04.2023.

We use cookies and similar technologies in the App. So, the aim of this Cookie Policy is to answer the most common questions regarding cookies and their purpose, as well as how Users can control them.

All terms starting with a capital letter have the same meaning as defined in our Privacy Policy or Terms of Usev.

1. Definition and the purpose of cookies

Cookies are text files (pieces of code) that contain small amounts of information, and they are stored on your device when you visit a website, react to an advertisement, or another feature of the App.

The main goal of the cookies is to make our Service more user-friendly, efficient, and secure. In addition, cookies allow us to recognize your device and offer you the best possible configuration.

Cookies also make it possible to distinguish between Users. In addition to cookies, there are other similar technologies that have a similar purpose to cookies, such as "pixels" and "web beacons" and other unique identifiers, thus, the term "cookie" in this Cookie Policy will include all such similar technologies.

We use cookies to collect information about how the App and Services are used, as well as to display personalized and non-personalized marketing content to App Users.

We update our cookie tables regularly. However, given that cookies are a very volatile category, the following tables may change from time to time.

2. Types of cookies

There are three criteria by which cookies are classified:

Criterion 1: Duration

Depending on how long they last, there are:

  1. session cookies, which are temporary cookies that expire once you stop using the App/Service;
  2. persistent cookies, which remain on the User's hard drive until the User or their browser erases them. All persistent cookies have an expiration date written into their code, but their duration can vary.

Criterion 2: Provenance (origin)

Depending on the entity that sets them within the App, cookies are divided into:

  1. first-party cookies - cookies that are put on your device directly by us, the owner of the App;
  2. third-party cookies - cookies placed on your device by a third party, such as our contractors and service providers engaged for the advertising or analytic services. For example, there are third-party cookies that collect data about the User's behavior and thereby enable the User to be shown customized content or advertisements.

Whether a certain cookie falls into the category of first-party or third-party ones, you can check in the category 'provider' in the table below of this Cookie Policy. To understand how your data collected through the use of third-party cookies is processed, please read the privacy policies of the providers of such cookies.

Criterion 3: Purpose

Based on their purpose, there are:

The App cannot function properly without these cookies, because these cookies enable the performance of the App by providing basic functionalities.

This category of cookies, also known as "performance cookies" or "analytical cookies" helps us to understand the movements and interactions of the User, by collecting data that we later analyze.

Through the statistical cookies, data is collected anonymously and cannot be used to identify Users. This group mainly includes third-party cookies, which are set up by our service providers for statistical purposes, and used for our needs.

If you refuse to use these cookies, we will not be able to know when you accessed the App.

We use marketing cookies to improve our App and provide you with the best user experience along with content that is customized for you. These cookies are set by our marketing services providers. They use data about your location and allow your browser and device to be uniquely identified, in order to create a profile of the interests of each individual User. In that way, we are able to provide you with content and advertisements that are relevant to you in other locations.

If marketing cookies are disabled, Users are not shown customized content and advertisements created by us on other sites and applications.

Unclassified cookies are cookies that we are in the process of classifying, together with the providers of individual cookies.

3. Use of external tools within the App

In order to enable limited advertisements through our App, by using the cookies and tracking technologies, we may generate and share your unique identifier with third parties, ie. advertising partners and advertising service providers, together with certain data collected from your device or through the use of our Services (for example, your age, assumed gender, country, city i.e. general location extracted from your IP address or GPS location data (if you have allowed us in your settings)). This includes partners and service providers who support targeting, measurement, and optimization for us, as well as advertisers themselves and their agencies or third parties who manage their advertising requests.

We may also receive data associated with your unique identifier from trusted third parties, which may be used to display more relevant ads and content on our Services or for better advertising analytics, based on information collected by such third parties on other websites and services.

Advertising networks and/or content providers serving ads on our App may use cookies, pixels, or other tracking technology to uniquely distinguish your web browser or device and track information related to serving ads on your web browser or mobile app such as e.g. the type of ads displayed and the pages on which the ads appear, as well as certain actions you take after clicking on the ads.

Some of these third parties may combine the information they collect through our Appl with other information they have independently collected about your web browser activity on their network of sites. These third parties collect and use this information in accordance with their own privacy policies and are responsible for their own practices with respect to personal information. You can exercise your rights directly by sending inquiries to these third parties.

The Google services we use (Google AdMob, Google Analytics, and Google Firebase) are controlled by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA. Read more details about data processing via Google tools at the following link: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We use these services to comply with the highest standards of privacy protection.

Google AdMob is a platform for advertising within mobile applications. Google AdMob allows us to generate income through the App, while the App itself is free for all our Users.

Google AdMob displays ads that are relevant to the specific User, which means that it is personalized advertising. Google defines personalized ads as ads that are based on previously collected or historical data, in order to determine or influence the selection of ads, including the User's previous searches, activities, visits to websites or applications, demographic information, or location. This includes, among other things, demographic targeting, interest category targeting, and the like.

Google Analytics is a service that we use to collect, record and analyze data related to the behavior of Users. Google Analytics uses cookies to track User behavior, with the aim of compiling reports on User visits and activities.

The information collected by Google Analytics via cookies (as described in the previous section) and related to the use of the App, is usually redirected to Google servers in the USA, where it is stored. Google may share with third parties the personal data it collects using the described technical methods. The data collected through cookies in the App is used by Google to analyze the use of the App and to provide us with services related to the App and Services. We have implemented anonymization, which means that Google shortens the IP address of visitors from EU and EEC countries. Exceptionally, it may happen that the entire IP address is transferred to Google servers in the USA, where it is subsequently shortened.

You can read more about how Google uses the data it collects through the App and Services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites?hl=en-GB&gl=uk.

Details about Google Analytics you can find at https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/, while you can read more information about the processing of User data by Google here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245#zippy=%2Cour-privacy-policy%2Cgoogle-analytics-cookies-and-identifiers.

Firebase meets relevant privacy and security standards and has ISO and SOC certifications. A more detailed report on that topic is available here: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

During data transfer, Firebase encrypts data using HTTPS and isolates user data.

One of the Firebase services is Google Analytics for Firebase, which works in accordance with these terms: https://firebase.google.com/terms/analytics. And, you can find data processing conditions that apply to Google Analytics for Firebase, as well as to the Google Analytics tool at this link: https://business.safety.google/adsprocessorterms/.

4. Legal basis for the use of cookies

In general, the legal basis for the use of cookies through the App is the User's consent, given in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We assume that the device you use to access the App is yours. If you access the App from a device that is not owned by you, it is assumed that you have the authority to consent to the use of cookies on that device, in accordance with this Cookie Policy.

Please note that there are exceptions to the use of cookies based on consent, i.e., in certain situations another legal basis for data processing is applied, as follows:

Given that our App is free for all Users, the legitimate interest for the use of marketing cookies is ensuring the financing of Key OPS Lab, i.e. realizing our economic interest and enabling the duration and improvement of the App, while it does not include the analysis of your previous behavior.

5. How to block cookies?

All categories of cookies other than necessary can be disabled through the cookie settings in the App, as well as through the settings of the device you are using.

  1. (a) By selecting the "Cookie Settings" option within the "Settings" option, you can set or change your cookie preferences at any time. Each individual category can be enabled or disabled by ticking the box in the App
  2. You can also set cookies through your device. If you are not sure how to do this, some links that may help you are:

If you disable all cookies (including the necessary ones), there is a risk that you will not be able to access or use certain parts of the App or Service.

Also, it is important to know that if you use more than one device, you need to disable cookies separately on each device.

You may opt-out of additional third-party advertising networks using the tools provided by the website Network Advertising Initiative, following the instructions available at this link: http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

Read more about cookies, their use, or ways of blocking them at http://www.aboutcookies.org/.
